Renaissance

Definition: During the Renaissance, there was a re-birth of classical learning in Europe. Renaissance means rebirth. The Renaissance, which followed the Middle Ages, began in the 14th century in Europe. When spelled renaissance, the word signifies revival rather than the historical, artistic period.
