Definition: Susanoh is the Japanese Shinto god of the winds, storms, oceans, and snakes who was born from Izanagi's nose. After being banished from heaven, Susanoh lived at Izumo where every year the eight-headed serpent fed on a young woman. Susanoh offered to save the king's daughter, who was the next scheduled feast, if he could marry her. Then he killed the serpent using trickery.
