Manuscript Transmission
When scribes copy manuscripts, there are often replication errors caused by any number of things, including improper hearing or seeing the same ending (homoeoteleuton) on the wrong line and jumping down (haplography). There may also be what are called transmission errors which are mistakes common to a set of manuscripts all deriving from a single copy.
