Readers Respond: Which Is the Best (Value) in Paid Latin Translation Services?

There are lots of ways to get a translation of Latin into English or English into Latin, but sometimes -- like when you're getting a permanent tattoo -- it really matters that you get it right. Unlike mechanical models, a paid service should guarantee translation by someone who actually knows Latin. If you have used such a service, was it worth the money? How expensive was it? Was it quick? Please let us know which are the services to steer clear of and which we should use. Don't just name it, but give examples or details, please. Best Latin Translator

Latin Translation Speed

I wanted a quick translation of an inscription in my local Town Hall (which no one could translate!!) and I looked at various sites including italatin, classical turns and traditio. I went with Classical turns and they (or he?) translated the 150ish words in a day at a cheap cost (around 30 dollars if I remember right), which for the speed seemed v. good. They added notes on a few odd terms that occurred and explained all the abreviations. Sometimes you just need a translation done quickly!!

Latin translation

I have only tried one of those services once but a site called classical turns was able to translate "let love be your guide" into latin for me. I got it back in the evening after sending it in the morning, and it cost ten bucks which seemed cheap.
