Poison in Athens

Friday September 15, 2006
AristotleThree weeks ago Bingley reviewed the first in a series of historical mysteries by Margaret Doody, Aristotle Detective, which she wrote in 1978. Twenty-five years later she followed up Aristotle Detective with Aristotle and Poetic Justice and Aristotle and the Secrets of Life, which he has also reviewed. Now Bingley brings us a review of the fourth in the series, Poison in Athens. In this volume Stephanos visits a brothel and runs into the famous real life courtesan Phryne. Despite the setting, Poison in Athens is not particularly sexually explicit.
