Are my eyes fooling me, or is that a depiction of a bull fight with matador on the left and picador on the right? I had no idea that “sport” existed so early, nor that it was found in Greece.

They’re athletes and acrobats rather than bull killers, as I understand it. I should look into it a bit more. Kyle’s book on sport and spectacle in the ancient world goes into it. Have to plug him every chance I get — the book was so eye-opening.
