Velleius Paterculus (ca. 19 B.C. - ca. A.D. 30), wrote a universal history from the end of the Trojan War to the death of Livia in A.D. 29. Velleius Paterculus was a supporter of Augustus whose writing shows the ideology of the age of Augustus and Tiberius. He included many portraits of famous Romans.
A codex of the work of Velleius Paterculus was discovered late in the Renaissance -- in 1515.
