The House of the Faun covered a block in Pompeii before it was covered in ash and pumice from the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius in A.D. 79. Since its excavation, it can be seen on the Via di Nola. The house is called the House of the Faun because of a bronze statue of a dancing faun.
